Meng-Fen Chiang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering (ECE) at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), where she leads the Knowledge Computing Lab. Her research advances trustworthy multimodal intelligence across three fronts: reasoning agents that perform complex, multi-hop inference over knowledge graphs; trustworthy AI that detects and contains hallucination and knowledge conflicts in LLMs and MLLMs; and multimodal AI that improves robust reasoning in high-resolution, multi-sensor settings. Prior to NYCU, she was a Lecturer at The University of Auckland (UoA), a Research Scientist at the Living Analytics Research Centre in Singapore, and Adjunct Professor at Singapore Management University (SMU). She holds a Ph.D. from National Chiao Tung University, under the supervision of Professor Wen-Chih Peng.
Advancing AI that reasons with integrity, explains its thinking, and respects human privacy from research to real-world impact.
